Multiamory Podcast

This episode is a grab bag!  We throw our normal show format to the wind, and bring you a variety of thrilling discussions.  We dig in to dog-walker porn, statistics about marriage, the prevalence (or complete lack) of bisexual women on OkCupid, and try to figure out what the hell "legalized cheating" means.

The media is buzzing about Caitlyn Jenner, bringing much more visibility and public discussion to transgender issues.  We at Multiamory.com have some transgender friends, but none of us really had any personal insight into what its like to be transgender in the 21st century.  Fortunately, gender therapist Dara Hoffman-Fox came to the rescue!

Dara is a therapist based in Colorado Springs who specializes in transgender clients, and she was kind enough to come on the podcast to answer all of our questions!   You can find more information about her services and her new book series on gender identity at her website, darahoffmanfox.com

We are very excited to interview Franklin Veaux and Eve Rickert, founders of the More Than Two blog, and co-authors of the book More Than Two: A Practical Guide to Ethical Polyamory.  Franklin is about to debut his new book, The Game Changer, and we were lucky enough to receive an advance copy of it!

We discuss Franklin and Eve's strategies for managing long-distance relationships, the challenges of writing a memoir, the future of marriage (or marriage alternatives), and Franklin's one piece of advice for healthy, long-lasting, polyamorous relationships.

You can check out Franklin's blog at MoreThanTwo.com, and you can pre-order The Game Changer here

The recent SCOTUS decision in favor of gay marriage has many of us excited and celebrating!  But many people are also asking, "Is plural marriage or polygamy next?" While most conservative journalists and pundits argue that it's a slippery slope to polygamy and other practices straight out of Sodom, the poly community is a mix of opinions.  Some say now is the time to push for plural marriage, but what about concurrent marriage?  Or abolishing special rights for married people altogether?  We discuss all of these and more!

Religion + Polyamory.  Is that an oxymoron? Or can the two coexist?  What happens when you take two controversial topics, throw in three smart-ass podcast hosts, and a bunch of cats?  We answer these questions and more!  We dig in to poly themes found in many different world religions, and we illuminate our own religious/non-religious upbringings!

We also address listener emails and messages regarding adding a third person to a D/s relationship, as well as introducing the new phrase, "falling in polyamory."
