Multiamory Podcast

This week we're talkin' about relationship baggage--those thoughts, feelings, habits, reactions, or trauma that you carry over from one relationship into another.  Within a monogamous context, this usually means there's a processing period after a breakup where ideally you can heal and carry as little baggage as possible into the next relationship.  In a poly context, this can happen with concurrent relationships!  We discuss how to prevent problems in some relationships from bleeding into others, as well as learning how to adjust communication styles between partners.

Multiamory is very excited to welcome author and blogger Saul of Hearts onto the podcast!  Saul writes about sexuality, relationships, communal living, the sharing economy, and many other topics.  In this interview, we pick Saul's brain on pansexuality, sexual exploration between straight men, stepping off of the relationship escalator, and more.  He also gives his one piece of advice for anyone interested in polyamory.

You can read more of Saul's writing at his website www.SaulofHearts.com.

Jase and Dedeker also hatch a master plan to get into a quad relationship with Tom Hanks and Carly Rae Jepsen and then retiring.

Multiamory welcomes back our good friend Erik Nelson to help us discuss the excitements and challenges of maneuvering first dates within the context of Polyamory.  In this episode we encounter personal first date experiences, first date foibles, the do's and don'ts of successful first dates, cheap and fun first date ideas, and when the appropriate time is to discuss your polyamorous lifestyle on your first date.  We also provide some helpful tips for dealing with the barrage of questions you will inevitably get about polyamory on a first date, and how to tackle the glow of a great first date in a respectful manner around your current partners.

We are super excited to be interviewing Gracie X.  Gracie is a polyamorous author, director, actress, and mom of two kids.  She regularly contributes to The Huffington Post, and her new book Wide Open: My Adventures in Polyamory, Open Marriage, and Loving On My Own Terms just went on sale! We have a billion questions for her about being parent while also being poly.  Some of the things we cover include:

-- How much to communicate to your kids
-- Choosing whether or not to introduce new partners to your kids
-- Different poly family makeups
-- The benefits of communal living
-- Dealing with negative reactions from others, including her own personal experience dealing with a legal custody battle
-- Her one piece of advice for people who are interested both in being poly and in being parents!

You can find out more about Gracie and purchase her book on her website GracieX.com.
