Multiamory Podcast

This week we are joined by Dr. Elisabeth Sheff, author of The Polyamorists Next Door and editor of the newly released Stories from the Polycule.  Sheff's books have been widely read in poly circles, and we had a great time picking her brain!

Eli explains her process of choosing and editing together this beautiful compilation of personal stories from poly families, and she alsogives a TON of great advice in this episode, including:

-- Coming out to your family during the holidays
-- How non-monogamous parents can protect themselves and their children from facing custody battles
-- Her #1 piece of advice for people currently within a monogamous relationship considering trying polyamory

Other talking points of this episode:
-- How many times an intelligent woman should marry.

Having a community or a support network is vital for human beings.  This is especially so for anyone engaging in polyamory, non-monogamy, or other alternative lifestyles.  This week we consult with Kate and Ryan of the Love is Not a Finite Resource (LINAFR) community based in Tuscon, Arizona.

Kate and Ryan share with us their experience creating a community that provides a place for non-monogamous folk to meet, discuss relevant topics, share problems, and enjoy a safe, supportive space.  They share with us tips for starting up your own community as well as ways to handle conflict and disagreements.

There's also a lot of adorable cat action if you watch the YouTube video.

If you are in the Tuscon area and want to get in touch with Kate and Ryan, you can reach them here:

For those of you who are tired of plain ol' vanilla...it's time to go to kinky town!

This week we discuss kinks, fetishes, and paraphilias.  We explore the basics of the BDSM scene, including discussions on safety, consent, and risk.  If you are intimidated by sharing your kinks with a partner or if you are trying to understand your partner's kinks, we give advice on how to start that conversation, as well as how to begin opening yourself to different sexual adventures.

Other talking points:
-- The deep, dark abyss that is the Dating & Relationships section of Yahoo Answers.

Jase and Emily are back in this all new episode to tackle the age-old question: Is it possible to be friends with your ex?  We recap the story of our relationship and breakup, as well as give personal insights on how to remain close even after your romantic relationship has ended.
Some topics we discuss include:

1) How much time it takes to begin healing your relationship.
2) How separation is a healthy and important step to take.
3) How imperative it is to build new communication habits with your ex-partner.
4) How to begin supporting your ex-partner in their new relationships.

In addition to our main topic, we also touch upon cell phone privacy in relationships and talk about the crazy concept of a "Purity Certificate."
